Importance of grout color in the design scheme.

Grout comes in many colors, and it's a daunting task to choose the right one for your project. Using the same tiles, and changing the grout color, will totally change your project's look. We bought some glass tiles from the Home Depot and made up three different grout colors, each to match the shade of glass in the tile design. Sanded vs. Unsanded. What' the deal?

Sand. One has it and the other doesn't. Sanded Grout contains about 30-40% of a fine grain sand, which decreases the shrinkage rate of grout as it cures. It also reinforces the grout to allow it to be used in joints up to 1-2" in width. Most sanded grout is used in widths of 1/8" up to 1/2" wide. On the other side of the Sanded would be the Unsanded grout. Unsanded contains absolutely zero percent of sand. And in it's place is around 30-40% of a material called Calcium Carbonate, which is essentially finely ground white marble dust. This...

Sweaty Betty - London custom color

Got a request for a Sweaty Betty colored grout for a store in London. They're experts at workout wear. The color they use in the logo is a bright fluorescent orangish/pink. Wasn't sure we could get something close enough, but got approved on the color. 2nd formulation will be the best.
